4th Annual Empow[her] Conference Inspires and Connects 200 Emerging Leaders

Tempe, AZ, June 16, 2024 — Young & Empowered Women’s 4th Annual Empow[her] Conference, held on June 15th at ASU Sun Devil Stadium, brought together 200 women from various sectors for a day of inspiration, professional development, and networking. This year's event featured a compelling keynote address by Dr. Connie Mariano, known as "the White House Doctor" and the first Filipino American in U.S. history to become a Navy Rear Admiral. Dr. Mariano, President and Founder of the Center for Executive Medicine, shared her journey as the first military woman to become the White House Physician to the President and the first woman Director of the White House Medical Unit.

The conference was emceed by Mi-Ai Parrish, Managing Director for Arizona State University Media Enterprise, who guided attendees through a day filled with enriching experiences. One of the highlights was the speed mentorship session, where leaders from various industries sat across the table from emerging young professionals, offering career advice and sharing their experiences.

In addition to mentorship and professional development sessions, the event included a corporate partner expo, showcasing local and women-owned businesses, providing attendees with opportunities to connect with potential partners and discover new resources.

In a thrilling finale to the event, OneAZ Credit Union announced that Young & Empowered Women received a $30,000 legacy grant. The OneAZ Community Foundation Legacy Grant will expand the capacity of Young & Empowered Women to deliver mentorship and networking opportunities, serving more women with meaningful experiences that will motivate young leaders to strive for what’s next. Young & Empowered Women has already built substantial momentum, and this grant will further enhance their impact.
